Josh Marx

Josh specialises in electronic and indie pop styles of music, working with producers, singer-songwriters and bands. In his time at Forbes Street Studios he has engineered for Sophie Hutchings, assistant engineered for Lil Nas X, BENEE, Onefour, The Voice TV series and an INXS mix project.

With a deep knowledge of audio equipment and the history of music production, Josh brings a perspective in which he integrates technical and creative processing, based on the aesthetic qualities of tools used in different eras. Through this he strives for authentic results which serve the intention and essence of the song. Alongside studio work, Josh has been refining his own artistic practice, creating music which is driven by soundscapes, electronic instruments and computer manipulation of acoustic sounds.

Josh learned guitar and began writing songs from a young age, as well as learning drums, keyboards and bass as a teenager. He began his production journey recording in his bedroom and local studios, while experimenting with synths and drum machines. This led to his passion for recording equipment, production techniques and electronic instruments.
