One of Australia’s top engineers and a true polymath of record production, Lewis Mitchell brings a decade of major-label experience across every stage of the process, from songwriting and production through to release-ready mixes and masters.
While working closely with the team at Sony Music at their Sydney studios, Lewis learnt the craft of record making, working songwriting camps and engineering for some of the world’s top songwriters and producers.
With charting releases across pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock, indie, and alternative, Lewis has worked with Australian artists including Gang of Youths, The Avalanches, The Kid LAROI, 3%, Ruel, Birds of Tokyo, The Lulu Raes, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Jerome Farah, JOY., A.B. Original, and The Veronicas.
Lewis has become a top choice for international artists recording in Sydney, engineering sessions for Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, A$AP Rocky, 6lack, Col3trane, JPEGMAFIA, Jorja Smith, Rita Ora, and Travis Scott, and has assisted the legendary producer Mike Dean and the M.W.A. crew on The Weeknd‘s Billboard #1 album Hurry Up Tomorrow.
With multiple ARIA and Billboard-charting records, Lewis has earned particular praise for executive producing Ziggy Ramo‘s critically acclaimed albums Human? and Sugar Coated Lies. He has also received a string of nominations at the Music Producers & Engineers Guild (MPEG) Awards across 2024–2026, including Producer of the Year, Recording Engineer of the Year, and Mix Engineer of the Year.
Drawing on his experience working alongside top production teams, Lewis brings a masterful approach and an elite, dynamic session workflow. He specialises in capturing performances, meticulous detail-driven editing and mixing, finishing records, live tracking, and complex room setups at the highest technical standard. Working closely with artists to realise their vision, Lewis can step into a project at any phase, taking sessions from their current state in most popular DAWs through to international, label-level release.
